I didn't venture too far from home this January. Nevertheless, I ate pretty well.
- Max London's Restaurant - Max London's excellent food and Nigel Manley's whiskey selections made this Slow Food Saratoga Region benefit dinner, one to remember.

- Cafe Lazio - My go-to restaurant in the area, I spent more time eating here this past month than anywhere else other than home. This spot represents a composite of my visits. Chef Adriano DiMario's veal piccata makes one understand how the dish became a classic in the first place. His picked lobster in a tomato cream sauce over pappardelle is on its way to becoming one. I have yet to have a dish there that I haven't enjoyed. I'm looking forward to the next SFSR dinner, which will be there in February.
- DP An American Brasserie - Albany was as far away as I made it this month and DP An American Bistro, the more casual front of the venerable Yono's made it worthwhile. We ordered dishes both from the DP menu and Yono's Indonesian menu, with all being tasty and satisfying. The Indonesian fried chicken special at DP was moist and succulent, having initially been slow cooked with Indonesian spices, then battered and fried.
Wow, lots of delicious meal yummy.
